House rules of Schloss Drachenburg
Please note that you are on the grounds of a listed building and that this is private property.
To make your stay as pleasant as possible and to ensure your safety on the grounds of this cultural heritage site, we kindly ask you to observe the following instructions:
1. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our staff at the ticket desk of Schloss Drachenburg or the attendants inside the castle.
2. The entire site (palace and park) is a listed monument and must not be altered. It is a palace ensemble with park grounds featuring stairs and sloping paths. We draw your attention to potential uneven surfaces or tripping hazards that may occur both inside the buildings and in the outdoor areas. Against this background, we ask for your understanding that we cannot accept liability for property damage caused by simple negligence. Entering the grounds of Schloss Drachenburg and the surrounding park is therefore at your own risk. We ask for heightened vigilance, particularly when leaving the paths, so that you do not endanger yourself on partially difficult terrain. Please note that winter maintenance is either not carried out or only provided to a limited extent on some areas and paths.
3. Please be considerate of other visitors. Any harassment or endangering of persons must be avoided. Infringements may be prosecuted by us as trespassing.
4. Lighting open fires and barbecuing are prohibited.
Eating and drinking is prohibited in the palace and the exhibitions. Consuming food and drinks brought from outside is also prohibited in the palace's catering establishments.
6.Please note that the carrying and use of hiking poles or other sticks in the outer ward and the castle is not permitted. This naturally does not apply to medical walking aids.
7. Dogs and other animals are not permitted inside the palace and exhibitions. Please keep dogs on a lead throughout the grounds. Please help us keep the Schloss Drachenburg estate clean by clearing up after your pets.
8. Those obliged to supervise (teachers, group leaders or similar) as well as legal guardians are responsible for the appropriate behaviour of children and young people in their care.
9. Schloss Drachenburg gGmbH reserves the right to restrict access to the Schloss Drachenburg estate in terms of area and time during events. Please observe any relevant regulations.
10. Photography and filming without a tripod are generally permitted for private purposes. However, this does not apply to special exhibitions. All photo, audio and film recordings that are not exclusively for private use require written permission from Schloss Drachenburg gGmbH. Attention is drawn to the statutory provisions of copyright law. Photography for press work is permitted in consultation with the management of Schloss Drachenburg gGmbH.
11. It is strictly prohibited to touch the exhibits, walls and windows. Exceptions are marked accordingly. In the immediate vicinity of the exhibits, it is not permitted to handle any objects that could potentially cause damage to the display items.
Guided tours of the grounds, the palace and the outer ward are exclusively organised and conducted by Schloss Drachenburg gGmbH. For information and bookings, please contact the Schloss Drachenburg visitor centre.
13. The supervisory staff of Schloss Drachenburg gGmbH act on behalf of the management. They are instructed to ensure that all points of these house rules are observed. For this reason, all instructions given by the supervisory staff must be followed. If the house rules or the instructions of the supervisory staff are not followed, a representative of Schloss Drachenburg gGmbH may prohibit the person or persons concerned from remaining any longer at Schloss Drachenburg.
Furthermore, visitors who repeatedly fail to comply with the house rules and the instructions of the supervisory staff may be banned from the premises. In the event of expulsion from the grounds, the admission fee will not be refunded.
15. Due to events, temporary restrictions may occur at any time during the tour (closed rooms, modified rooms, alternative routes, cordoned-off areas).
We thank you very much for your support and wish you a pleasant stay at Drachenburg Castle!
